The best is yet to come in 2017! And this past weekend, Megan Gioeli, a local photographer, and I hosted our first weekend retreat for our photography group in the Triad!  Our fun filled weekend was full of laughter, new friends, a few rain drops, and goal setting for 2017. We had amazing speakers, Ariana and Amber, who shared their love of blogging and marketing with us all, and provided tools and inspiration to make 2017 our best year yet!!  Lindsey Wilkerson, from Face Forward, shared a few laughs with us as she taught us a makeup class and thanks to her, I now know how to put on eye shadow as well as what to buy for those hot, summer wedding days!! It always amazes me how a group of ladies can come together to inspire, learn, and create as a community!

We came together as a group of photographers and women who barely knew each other, and left as amazing friends & boss ladies who not only support one another, but are working together to help each other succeed! It was an amazing weekend, and I cannot wait until the next retreat!!  Minus the rain! 🙂 🙂

Thank you to the following for your support and love:

Happy Holidays everyone!! If most of you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you know we’ve added a new addition to our little family, a Westie named Winston. We already love him so much!!

With the holidays fast approaching (12 days until Christmas!!!!!), Barley, Winston, and I thought we would spread a little Christmas cheer.  Barley is a pro when it comes to Westie Wednesday photo sessions, but she says Winston has a lot to learn about the ins and outs of Westie Wednesday.  First rule, don’t eat the props!!! Second rule, smile at the camera!

We hope you have an amazing Wednesday filled with the holiday spirit!!

Happy Holidays from my family to yours!

Barley, Aaron, and I have been watching the news all week to see what Hurricane Matthew has in store for all of us! We are saddened by the devastation that Matthew left in Haiti and continues to do so in the Bahamas.  As the East Coast prepares for Hurricane Matthew, we are saying prayers for those located on the coast and preparing for some rain this weekend here in Western North Carolina.  Barley is ready for some wet weather in her raincoat! Now all she needs are some rain boots!

Barley has decided that she would like to help, although it may be in a small way, the people that have been affected by Hurricane Matthew.  So, here’s what we need you to do:

  1.  Leave a comment below! Just say hello, tell us how your day is going, or something exciting that is going on in your life, or just leave us a smiley!
  2.  For each comment Barley receives on this Westie Wednesday, she will be making a donation to the American Red Cross to help the areas devastated by Hurricane Matthew!

We hope everyone stays safe! You are in our thoughts and our prayers! Happy Westie Wednesday from my family to yours!

UPDATE ON OUR DONATION:  Thank you everyone for your sweet words!! We have donated $150 to the American Red Cross to help those affected by Hurricane Matthew!! Let’s support one another and help those in need!
